Why we chose slow living

Why we chose slow living

There was a time when I thought being busy meant I was living life to the fullest.

Like many people, I rushed from one thing to the next—working long days, ticking off endless to-do lists, and telling myself I'd slow down "one day."

Then, we found our farmhouse in Portugal. It wasn't perfect. In fact, it needed plenty of love. But the moment I stood there, surrounded by open skies and quiet fields, something shifted. For the first time in a long time, I wasn't thinking about what came next.

I was simply present. That feeling became the heart of Casa Lenta.

A Home That Breathes

Slow living isn't about doing less for the sake of it. It's about making space for what matters. A warm cup of coffee before checking your phone. Fresh flowers picked on a morning walk. A table set for dinner, even on an ordinary Tuesday. The soft glow of a lamp as the evening draws in. These moments aren't extraordinary, but they are the ones we remember.

More Than Beautiful Things

When I choose products for Casa Lenta, I don't just ask whether they're beautiful. I ask how they'll make someone feel.

Will this cushion make a reading corner feel more inviting?

Will this candle encourage someone to pause for ten quiet minutes?

Will this piece become part of someone's everyday rituals?

I hope so.

Building Slowly

Casa Lenta is growing one collection at a time. There isn't a rush to have hundreds of products. Instead, I'm choosing pieces thoughtfully, inspired by our farmhouse and by the idea that a home should bring comfort, not clutter.

Every new addition has a purpose.

Welcome Home

Whether you live in a city apartment, a countryside cottage, or somewhere in between, I hope Casa Lenta inspires you to create a home that feels peaceful.

Because slow living isn't about where you live. It's about how you choose to live.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
